Motorhome & Campervan Hire Scotland

Atlas Depot, ten minutes from Glasgow City Centre

104 Hydepark Street, G3 8BW.

  • ten minute walk from Glasgow Central station,
  • twenty-five from Queen Street.
  • 10-15 minute taxi ride from Glasgow Airport
  • 200 Yards from J19 M8 Motorway

which is why most Atlas trips start here: full tank, a kettle on, and the road to Loch Lomond is half an hour up the A82.

Where Atlas is, exactly

The depot is a single building on Hydepark Street, off Argyle Street, in the Anderston and Finnieston end of the city centre. Anderston station is the closest train at nine minutes’ walk; Glasgow Central is fifteen, Queen Street twenty-five. Drive to it on the day of collection and you can park your car with us for the length of the hire (book the space when you book the vehicle).

Glasgow is the right place to start a Scottish trip on its own merits. Loch Lomond is thirty minutes up the A82. Glencoe is under two hours. The Mull ferry from Oban is two and a half. The NC500’s official start at Inverness is three and a half hours, but most Atlas customers turn off long before they get there.

Walk from the nearest train Ten-fifteen minutes from Glasgow Central direct, twenty-five from Queen Street. Bring a suitcase, not a taxi.

Loch Lomond in 30 minutes Up the A82 and the loch opens up. Glencoe is under two hours, Mull's ferry around two and a half.

Park your car with us Secure on-site parking for the length of the hire, with a small per-night fee. Two spaces per motorhome, booked at the time of reservation.

Glasgow airport ten to fifteen minutes A quick taxi ride from Glasgow Airport. You'll be on the road within a hour of touching down

Getting here

By car, the depot is easy to find. The M8 runs along the north of the city centre — come off at Junction 19 (Anderston) and you’re a minute from the door.

Flying into Glasgow Airport? A taxi takes ten to fifteen minutes.

If you’re coming by train, Glasgow Central is ten to fifteen minutes on foot and Queen Street is around twenty.

Practical questions about collection

Can I leave my car at the depot while I'm on hire?

Yes. Secure parking with a small per-night fee, two spaces per motorhome. Book the space when you book the vehicle, or add it later via the link in your booking email.

What time can I collect on a weekday?

Monday to Friday gives you the widest range of slots. Collection: 10am to 5pm
Returns: 9am to 5pm

Pick the slot that suits you when you book; the system shows what’s still available, and popular slots go first.

What about weekends?

The depot is open Saturdays and Sundays, including most bank holidays, with longer operating hours to help with the extra demand.

Saturday & Sunday (Outside High season – see below)
Collection: 10am to 5pm
Returns: 8am to 4pm

Saturday & Sunday (Bank Holidays, July and August)
Collection: 12pm to 6pm
Returns: 8am to 12pm

Pick the slot that suits you when you book; the system shows what’s still available, and popular slots go first.

If you need an earlier collection slot than the system shows, write to us after you book and we’ll see if we can fit it in; an additional fee applies for an approved earlier slot. Later return slots aren’t usually possible at weekends, so plan the return drive accordingly. If you can move to a Friday-to-Tuesday hire, you get more flexibility on both ends.

How do I get to you from Glasgow Airport?

The airport is very close.   The most efficient way to get to us is by taxi.   It will take about 10 minutes.   Taxis can be collected directly outside the terminal building.

How do I get there from Edinburgh Airport?

The CityAir bus runs every thirty minutes from Edinburgh Airport to Buchanan Bus Station in Glasgow. Around an hour, £12.50 per person, no booking needed. From Buchanan it’s a fifteen-minute walk or a five-minute taxi to the depot.
